The Henchman 1 Adjustable Leg tripod ladder model can be safely used on flat or slightly sloping ground. The rear leg of the ladder can be individually adjusted to counteract slopes or steps, allowing you to work on your project safely and comfortably for longer periods of time. The ladder’s three feet keep you stable as long as all feet are touching the ground.

Our ladders aren’t just for gardens. With the rubber feet, our Henchman 1 Leg Adjustable Ladder has fantastic grip on hard, flat surfaces, providing greater grip. It’s very lightweight which makes it easy to manoeuvre from room to room, and the rubber feet won’t leave any marks on delicate floors.

Our 1 adjustable leg tripod ladder has a starting weight of just 6kg - it’s our lightest ladder available! It’s great for moving around your garden as and when you need to, and the rear leg can be adjusted up to 6 inches (15cm) on the 6ft and 8ft Tripods or up to 12 inches (30cm) for the 10ft and 12ft versions.
The 1 Adjustable Leg Ladder can be folded away in seconds and stored both in and outdoors.

The 1 Adjustable Leg Ladder comes with a 7”/18cm platform rung that sits at the top 3ft of your ladder’s full height, no matter the size you have. You can stand comfortably on the platform without hitting your knees on the rung above and lean into the guard rail, keeping you safe when using tools that require two hands to hold.

Selecting the right size 1 Adjustable Leg Tripod Platform Ladder
Choose the right size ladder by reading our advice below. Please note that when we refer to the ladder height, this means from the top of the guard rail to the feet.
Before you order your ladder, find out the height you’ll be working at. We always recommend working between shoulder and waist height level.
The platform on the Henchman 1 Adjustable Leg Tripod Platform Ladder is 3ft/0.9cm from the top. When you stand on the platform, the top of the ladder is level with your waist. So, say you have a 6ft/1.8m ladder, your waist will be at a height of 6ft/1.8m.
This means that, when working between waist and shoulder level, you’ll have a working height range of 6-8ft/1.8-2.4m. So, if you need to reach 6-8ft when standing on a ladder, our 6ft / 1.8m adjustable tripod ladder is the right size for you.

To avoid ordering the wrong sized ladder, it’s important you know exactly how high you need to reach before you order.
For example, if you’re using your ladder to trim hedges, we suggest picking one that’s more or less the same height as that hedge. Measuring the hedge height before you order will ensure you choose the right size.

How does the 1 Leg Adjustable Tripod Ladder work?
It’s simple, really. The 1 Leg Adjustable Tripod Ladder provides wobble-free stability because all three feet always remain in contact with the ground.
By adjusting the back leg individually you can counteract a gentle slope towards or away from your working area. The ladder’s claw-like feet grip soft ground to add extra stability, and stop the ladder from sinking.
The tripod ladder’s standing platform provides a safe place for your feet while you work. You can tuck your knees into the frame for extra stability, allowing you to use both hands safely as you work.
Can I use the 1 Leg Adjustable Tripod Ladder indoors?
Yes. Our 1 Adjustable Leg Tripod Ladders work brilliantly indoors when purchased with the optional rubber feet. These improve the grip on flat, hard surfaces and also protect delicate floors from being scratched by the ladder’s clawed feet.
Should I buy the professional henchman tripod ladder instead?
If you’re planning to use your tripod ladder at work, for example as a gardener or tree surgeon, then we do suggest you consider our Professional 3-leg adjustable tripod platform ladder instead.
While similar to our standard tripod ladder model, our professional tripod ladder is made from thicker aluminium and is built to better withstand regular use and transit. This makes it far more resistant to frequent use over the years. Plus, for businesses claiming back on VAT, the extra cost of our professional tripod ladder can be easily recovered.
The professional tripod ladder also has three adjustable feet, making it far better suited to a range of different surfaces and terrains.
What’s the difference between the Henchman Tripod Ladders and the Henchman Hi-Step Platform Step Ladders?
The Henchman 1 Leg Adjustable Ladder is perfect for working on flat ground or on gentle slopes, and works especially well for indoor and patio use.
However, if you’re likely to be working on uneven ground, you’ll be better off with our 3 Leg Adjustable Tripod Ladder, or our Adjustable Platform Step Ladder. Both of these ladders are specifically designed for safety while working on uneven ground, as each leg is adjustable, counteracting all slopes, dips and steps.

What does delivery cost?
An all-day delivery slot is free of charge if you’re ordering from mainland UK.
If you’re ordering from overseas, this also costs extra and depends on the country. Please get in touch with us before you order and we’ll advise you on the cost.
What do the Rubber Feet do?
The rubber feet make your ladder easier to use inside and on hard surfaces.
Slide them onto the feet of the Tripod ladder and they will protect your floor from scratches and improve grip.
It’s important to always take the rubber feet off when working on soft ground or gravel, as the clawed aluminium feet are designed to dig into and grip the ground, preventing slipping or sinking.
